The Event

The start/finish is at Main Street and Library Place. The return of the Second Annual Danbury Audi – Race4Scholars Criterium to historic downtown Danbury, Connecticut will take place on Sunday, August 16, 2015. Event proceeds will help WHEELpassion pursue its mission of advocating for healthy life choices for adolescents and to establish health & wellness, mentoring, and educational opportunities for program graduates that express an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

Last year’s event drew more than 315 professional and elite amateur racers from across the United States, Argentina, Canada, Columbia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Germany, Guyana, and New Zealand. For the racers, this course is challenging, technical and fast! This year is sure to provide another exciting day of top class racing for everyone.

The event is free to the public and features an expo, vendors and family entertainment. There will be raffles, merchandising and free giveaways to lucky ticket-holders.

Race Day – Restaurant Deals 

Plan to enjoy lunch specials of regional cuisine from other countries at one of many restaurants that line the racecourse.

The “Local Legends” Charity Ride

 WHEELpassion – Charity Ride4Scholars

Join other cyclists in the inaugural WHEELpassion – Ride4Scholars Charity Event.  Participants will traverse a challenging (50K) course to mimic European-style riding, linked to the magnificent beauty this region is known for, rolling hills, steep climbs, church steeples, colonial style homes and farms.


Pre-registration number pick up for the Ride4Scholars is on Sunday, August 16th begins at 7:00 AM.

The Race4Scholars Criterium

 The Danbury Audi – Race4Scholars Criterium

THE 2015 event will feature two amateur category races, two professional/elite amateur races and a junior category race.  The Danbury Audi – Race4Scholars Criterium is built on the foundation of advocating for parity in women’s racing by uniquely offering equal distances and prize money for the Women’s 1/2/3 & Pro event.


A jersey will be awarded to the winner of each category event.  The Danbury Audi – Race4Scholars Criterium will award Winners Jerseys in five categories; Men’s 1/2 & Pro, Women’s 1/2/3 & Pro, Men’s Master’s 40+ and Men’s Category 3/4 and juniors.


Registration Second Annual Danbury Audi – Race4Scholars Criterium will begin on April 6, 2015 through August 14, 2015 and is only available only at See for information and event registration.


Late fee applies after Friday, August 14, 2015 at 9:00 PM ET. There is a $10.00 fee for day of registration. Pre-registration number pick up for the Race4Scholars Criterium on Sunday, August 16th begins at 9:00 AM.

Registration closes 1 hour before each category race.


All USA Cycling rules apply. Held rain or shine. SRAM Neutral Support will be provided. Limit six riders per team.


The Kids Bike4Fun

WHEELpassion – Kids Ride4Fun

The force behind the event is WHEELpassion’s mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle in getting kids on bikes.  Our future state champion can ride the same .6-mile (1K) racecourse as the pros.  This event is free of charge. Participants must wear properly fitting helmets.

Dash4Scholars – 1-Mile Foot Race

WHEELpassion – Dash4Scholars

If you are looking to combine some speed work, and individual creativity with the chance to win some great prizes, this event is for you!  The inaugural WHEELpassion – Dash4Scholars is a 1-Mile competitive charity run that will award prizes to top male and female runners. Prizes will be awarded to age-group winners in several categories along with prizes for the best costumes.

The race will be a 1-Mile, chip-timed competitive run. The current world record holders are Morocco’s Hicham El Guerrouj with 3:43.13 and Svetlana Masterkova of Russia with the women’s record of 4:12.56. This should be interesting!
