CULTURAL ALLIANCE OF WESTERN CONNECTICUT
SEEKS SCULPTORS TO SUBMIT AWARD DESIGNS
FOR DANBURY BIKE RACE
The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut, in partnership with WHEELpassion, invites sculptors to submit samples of their work for a creative challenge: to design an original, one-of-a-kind award to be presented to Danbury Audi, title sponsor of the inaugural Race4Scholars Criterium. The bike race, which will be held this summer in downtown Danbury on Sunday, August 17th, will help establish educational opportunities for college-bound students who intend to major in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) disciplines. The event is also helping to promote woman’s racing by offering equal distances and prize money for the Woman’s Feature 1, 2 & Pro event and youth cycling.
The selected artist is asked to be present at the August 17th awards presentation and will be recognized during the unveiling of the winning piece. The artist will also be included in the race’s extensive print, on air, and social media promotional campaigns, and on the Cultural Alliance website.
Sculptors are encouraged to visit wheelpassion.org to become more informed about the organization and its charitable work. To apply, visit artswesternct.org. The deadline for all applications is Thursday, May 8th. For more information about this Call to Sculptors, and other services and resources provided by the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut, call (203) 798-0760.
