 The Event

The start/finish is at Main Street and Library Place. The return of the 2nd Annual Danbury Audi – Race4Scholars Criterium to historic downtown Danbury, Connecticut will take place on Sunday, August 16, 2015. Event proceeds will help WHEELpassion pursue its mission of advocating for healthy life choices for adolescents and to establish health & wellness, mentoring, and educational opportunities for program graduates.

Last year’s event drew more than 315 professional and elite amateur racers from across the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Germany, and New Zealand. For the racers, this course is challenging, technical and fast! This year is sure to provide another exciting day of top class racing for everyone.

The event is free to the public and features an expo, vendors and family entertainment. There will be raffles, merchandising and free giveaways to lucky ticket-holders.   We are planning a special fun filled activity for teen and young-at-heart adults.  Plan to enjoy lunch of regional cuisine from other countries at one of many restaurants that line the racecourse.

What better way for some, then to attend a cycling event on your bicycle? When you arrive a Bike Corral will await you. A bike corral is an area to conveniently park your bike while at an event. (We will not offer a claim check system, so bring a lock to secure your property.)

The Danbury Audi – Race4Scholars Criterium

THE 2015 event will feature two amateur category races, two professional/elite amateur races and a junior category race.  The Danbury Audi – Race4Scholars Criterium is built on the foundation of advocating for parity in women’s racing by uniquely offering equal distances and prize money for the Women’s 1/2/3 & Pro event.

WHEELpassion – Charity Ride4Scholars

Join other cyclists in the inaugural WHEELpassion – Ride4Scholars Charity Event.  Participants will traverse a challenging (50K) course to mimic European-style riding, linked to the magnificent beauty this region is known for, rolling hills, steep climbs, church steeples, colonial style homes and farms.

WHEELpassion – Kids Ride4Fun

The force behind the event is WHEELpassion’s mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle in getting kids on bikes.  Our future state champion can ride the same .6-mile (1K) racecourse as the pros.  This event is free of charge. Participants must wear properly fitting helmets.

WHEELpassion – Dash4Scholars

If you are looking to combine some speed work, and individual creativity with the chance to win some great prizes, this event is for you!  The inaugural WHEELpassion – Dash4Scholars is a charity fun run that will award prizes to top male and female runners along with prizes for the best costumes.
